Research: The Top 40 and My Music Genre.

In order to look how popular my artist would be, and to see which other artists would feature in my magazine, I am going to look at the current top 40 in the music charts and look for artists or bands who perform acoustic rock songs or have been known to write their own songs.

Above are the artists who either a) Fit into the acoustic rock genre or b) write their own music and songs. As my magazine is designed for music lovers, and possibly aspiring artists themselves, I feel it should be important on have artists, from a different genre, present in my magazine - not only will this reach out to the Aspirers in my target audience, but this may also reach out to other audience members, who would buy a magazine because of their favourite artist e.g. Adele.

Seeing as there are quite a few acoustic rock artists, I am aware that my own artist is their competition and that, in order to make my artist successful, I must represent her correctly, as well as create a consistent iconography and brand.
